1 John 3:14 KJV
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

I begin this write-up with broad smiles as I unreservedly thank God for our lives; considering His mercy and grace is more than enough reason to say "Thank you".

Today's post is born out of in-depth gratitude to God and taking a cue from His love, we have streams of love to flow by. The above verse describes the condition of man as death when he doesn't love another. This is not what anyone prays for but by denying others your love or feigning it; you are inadvertently living in death.

Love is indeed a common word and it must have been talked about if you recently heard a Christmas message. Love made God do what He did to save mankind from their sorry state (Jn 3:16). My emphasis is however how we can relate to this fountain of love and thereby illuminate our world with the very essence of it. Let me be quick to say "Love is denying self". That is a definition. Rick Warren penned "True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less".

I termed that definition some months ago as the golden definition of humility. This definition also goes same for love. Love is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less. You cannot truly love if you won't deny self. Take some time to ponder on this truth and some light will beam into your heart. This made privileged Nehemiah leave the King's palace to go rebuild the ruins of Jerusalem and the city of Judah (Neh 2:5)

This post concludes on what the streams of love are but endeavour these conceptual dimensions of love sink in some more. Love is also an extension of care to others. Take it also as a definition and strive to apply henceforth. You cannot say you love without caring. Care is the proof of love. You must show you love by doing the needful to alleviate the pain, plight, pang, pressure and poverty of others. Love is not only in word but also in deed and truth(1 Jn 3:18). As we move into the New Year, as it is viral in the social media, somethings must not enter the New Year with you. Strive to communicate your love in the best possible way.

It is however crucial to note that you need to be regenerated to truly express love. If you haven't given your life to Jesus Christ, it is practically impossible to express these love streams. You have to first accept the love He brings, then you can learn and be led by the Holy Spirit to express love in blessed dimensions.

1 John 3:23 describes the command God gave us which is to believe in Jesus and to love one another. If you haven't answered the call of salvation, say "Lord Jesus, I believe you died for my sins, forgive all my sins and come into my life. I make you my Lord and Saviour".

If you have said that prayer, you are saved. Ensure you are rooted in a Bible based church and keep in touch with us. The second part of the command is to love one another, consider the love streams below:

1) Love compels you to seek reconciliation first.
2) Love maintains a talking relationship.
3) Love doesn't entertain grudges.
4) Love speaks the truth from the heart.
5) Love likes and maintains company.
6) Love always gives the best.
7) Love is aimed at resolving a conflict and not dissolving a relationship.
8) Love seeks the best in others.
9) Love works more with facts and not merely emotions.
10) Love always glues to wisdom.

Let your heart be filled with Love as you cross over to the new year.

Happy New Year with loads of Love.
