LOVE'S SPILL

Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith.


The subject matter of love can not be overemphasized not even in a million years to come. I know you would be wondering why I say this and I sure will tell you why. It's because true love is one major essence that was present at the creation of the earth. Love was present before you and I were created, and love will be forever. I say this because God Himself is love. It was Love (God) who began all things. Love was before time began and it's a virtue that will transcend time. God does everything with a love purpose. As today's verse of scripture says, the purpose of every instruction that has ever been given to mankind from the beginning of creation is to bring man to both realizing the place of the love of God and walking in genuine love.

A lot of persons today in the name of religion and piety have missed the heart and the intention of God. To have a successful relationship with God, you must come to see that when we walk in love God is satisfied. It has never been the intention of God to keep you in a panic all because you do not know if you have kept His commandments well enough. Striving to be found keeping rules and regulations does not impress God. God's commands have never been about rules, they have always been about love. They have never been about getting us to be rules conscious; they have always been about getting us to be love conscious. Until we see the point God was making about love when He gave the commandments, we do not yet understand what they are about. This is why many who teach the law today have no clue what they are saying. If you have received Christ into your heart, God's love nature is now let loose in you; you now have the capacity by default to love people unconditionally. This is something that those to whom the laws were given could not do.

So dear friend, whenever the thought of love comes to mind, be it the love you share with someone special as a partner/spouse or that you share with a good friend, a family member or perhaps a close or distant colleague/neighbour, remember that true love stems from God and it's both real and tangible. As a believer, this tangible substance called love is living inside you. This I know, that as you read these words you're coming to the actual realization of what true love really is. Something is changing inside you such that you can no longer hold back when it comes to loving people sacrificially. You just have too much love in you not to let some spill out of you. I know that more and more God is at work in you helping you understand love's tremendous power to effect great changes in your life. Your eyes are opening to see love's great purpose in and through you.
