"I don't care about whose DNA has recombined with whose. When everything goes to hell, the people who stand by you without flinching they are your family." - Jim Butcher
Galatians 6:2 (BBE)
Take on yourselves one another's troubles, and so keep the law of Christ.
When you look at today's quote what comes to your mind? In everyone's life there are going to be those times when things seem to be going worse than expected. Somethings happen that you wish never happened. Everyone has their valleys. It may be the loss of a loved one, a sickness etc. How do you relate with your acquaintances when they're down in their valleys? It's true that people can not display their commitment to you and your well being in word alone but a whole lot more by the things they do. Anyone who says they care about you but who does not stick around to be there for you when things seem not to be going fine, really doesn't mean what they've been saying. It's the same with you; if you only show love with your mouth but withdraw when things get rough for your friends, you really are just a talker. We all can talk less and do more. Love is a verb, an action word. Love implies that the one loving is doing something.
Everyone needs a family. Everyone needs someone to hold their hand and smile at them when the whole world looks like it's crashing. People remember the times you were there for them far more than they remember the things you say. People want true family. Be that family for someone you know today. I'd love for you to remember that things do change. People who are down today will not always be down. You were down once but you arose. That person too will rise. Now is the best time to identify for them and to love them truly. When God created mankind, He made a family. We were designed to operate within families. Every human being naturally wants to be loved. This desire was placed there by God. We want to have people who are concerned about us, who stop by to check on us, who buy us gifts, call us on the phone and who do different things that show they have us at heart. In summary: We want a family.
It's common sense that what a person plants is what they will harvest. One sure way to have your natural need for a family met is to meet someone else's natural need for a family. Be there for someone who's going through stuff. Don't judge them and write them off. Even if they're suffering as a result of their own errors, be there for them. Spend time being by their side. Spend your money making life better for them. This is love and your love can change their lives forever. Today's Bible verse tell,s us that we can fulfil the law (or command or instruction) of Christ, by sharing the troubles of others with them. Christ's law is simple, "Love one another as I have loved you." A person who truly loves you will make your trouble their trouble. This is the way we should be. Jesus came to make our trouble His trouble. He identified with us in our down trodden condition. By so doing, He forever transformed humanity. He didn't change us by standing afar off and dishing orders. No, He changed us by identifying with us. We are deeply endeared to Him today because He first stooped down and shared the pain we had. Your relationship can get stronger, your love for your partner/spouse can grow much stronger by you identifying more with them and sharing their troubles. Let the things that concern others truly concern you. Be their family.
