"Love means to love that which is unlovable or it is no virtue at all'' - G K Chersterton.
col. 3:14
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
According to the English dictionary, virtue is moral execellence or can also be said to be the conformity of one's life and conduct to moral and ethical principles, uprightness as well as rectitude. A virtue can not be said to be a gift since a gift is something given freely at the expense of the giver. A virtue is a fruit that is produced by a constant and consistent character develpoment. It is built up over a period of time and all this explains to a degree what true love is. True love is a virtue that is worked at and that becomes strong over a period of time.
Love as a virtue is the bestowing of unconditional love on other people especially those who do not deserve it. It is having a positive impact on the lives of others. Love is the most powerful force of life. It ignites emotions physically as well as mentally, guides us in a postive life and brings meaning to our lives. It is the foundation of all other virtues and as a matter of fact it's the centre that holds all other virtues in a perfect bond.
Perharps you have tried to give your best shot at expressing love to one who constantly rejects you or you even have tried to adopt it as a way of life but still seem to find it an uninteresting thing to do, don't give up. Try again and again because it is in trying again you learn to do it much better. Just as a toddler who is trying to walk initially falls down each time but continues to try and doesn't give up until he begins to run, you should not quit loving people. What makes love really a virtue is that we can give it to those who do not in any way deserve it. The more love your heart can give the more it would receive for love is its own reward.
Keep loving,keep living...........love issues
