But permit me a reminder, friends, and this is not a new commandment but simply a repetition of our original and basic charter: that we love each other. Love means following his commandments, and his unifying commandment is that you conduct your lives in love. This is the first thing you heard, and nothing has changed.


The greatest book on the surface of the earth tells us of some of the great miracles that Christ Jesus did on those who were afflicted one way or the other and who had diseases or ailments and needed freedom from the things that held them bound. The beauty of the miracles is that He always was moved by compassion before he pronounced them healed. That clearly shows that the miracles were products of the strong concern Jesus had for the sick backed up by a desire to eliminate their sufferings. All these speak of the love Christ poured out from his life.

The same things that happened in days gone by can happen same way again today. Miracles can take place in the lives of those around us just as cheaply as they happened in Jesus' day. To bring an answer to people's prayers, to turn their pains around and give them laughter and dancing, you do not necessarily need "more power"; what you need to flow in is more compassion. Where there's more compassion, there'll be more power. You know, sometimes it has amazed me how we often miss the compassion element in the miracles Jesus did. Let's remember that faith functions by love. Love is what makes it all happen. Jesus was Love dressed up in a human body.

Believe me when I say that everyone wants to experience a miracle in different areas of their lives. No matter how simple it may sound as long as that's what they desperately need God knows it's important to them. One thing is for sure, miracles happen everyday, real ones by the love which inspires them. Be a blessing to someone today. Let love flow through you and cause a miracle to happen to that fellow that is in need of it no matter how little it may seem.
