" You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget" - Jessica- age 8

Mark 10:13-16
13-16 The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: "Don't push these children away. Don't ever get between them and me. These children are at the very centre of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God's kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you'll never get in." Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.

Just few days ago precisely on Good Friday, I stumbled on someone's display picture that had a number of children depicting the death of Christ Jesus on the Cross. Not only did I become joyous on seeing it but I was also thrilled that even at their tender age they had come to have an understanding of what Christ did for the inhabitants of the earth and were showing it to the world trying to remind us all of the reason why Christ died. The heart of a child believes easily and does hold on certainly to what it has received. Not everything about being a child is a disadvantage.

Children are such an amazing set of creatures. They have been so made different from adults in so many ways especially when it comes to them being so free and open minded, having to trust people so quickly and loving so easily that when they are wronged, they easily forget about it, hardly remembering the hurt and they start playing all over again like nothing ever happened. Children are generally not secretive. They are open minded. They have nothing to hide, nothing to lose and nothing to hold back. That's how Christ would have us be, to have a form of child likeness.

Children appreciate words and they tell you exactly what they want. Even in your relationship with your partner/spouse and those you have around you, God wants you to have the simplicity of a child. Just as we see in the opening quote, be simple and sincere enough to let your partner know what helps you function effectively in the relationship. If hearing how much you are loved helps you a great deal, be simple enough to request it from time to time. Just be simple and open. Notice that today's Scripture shows us children who came to Jesus to receive His love and a blessing. Just as these children, let's be open hearted to receive love.

Keep Loving,Keep Living............LOVE ISSUES.

  1. Until we develop an open mind and trust others, especially our spouses, we might never know the true meaning of love.
Thank you for reminding us and keep it up.
