LOVE'S EXPECTATION

1 Cor. 13:1-8
1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.
2 If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing.
3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, Doesn't have a swelled head, Doesn't force itself on others, Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep score of the sins of others, Doesn't revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.
8 Love never dies


Dear friends, due to the recent happenings in our blessed country Nigeria yesterday that threw the whole nation into a state of shock and pandemonium, leaving so many incapacitated in their thoughts of hope and expectation of tranquility for their fatherland, it is therefore needful to redirect our minds' eyes to true love and its source. Only the love that comes from God into the heart of a man can make him treat others right. True love for God is displayed in our love for others.

Our love for others is the proof that we do know God. I decided to allow the Word of God on love constitute the bulk of today's message because everything else can fail and I mean everything. But only the love of God for humanity always lives on and if only people could come to embrace this truth, then such problems of terrorist attacks and the killing of innocent lives would utterly seize. This is my expectation that love will swallow up hate just as light swallows up darkness.

I make bold to say that the only answer for the world today is Jesus Christ. Letting Him gain entrance into your life to change your heart is the best decision one could ever make on the surface of the earth. Not only would you experience the blessings of true love as a result, you would also be a channel to bring healing to needy hearts around you and to put smiles on their faces. My heart goes out to all those who have been thrown into mourning and it's my prayer that the Lord comfort the hearts of those who have lost loved ones in that incident and the hearts of others around the world in Jesus name, amen.
