RELATIONSHIP TIPS - LOVE AND POETRY

Over the past few months, I have come to really appreaciate and have a form of connection with writing (I find it amazing because I dreaded it back in secondary school when I had to write essays). Now writing has opened my intution greatly and made me cherish every oppurtunity to pass out information and/or experience to my audience. One of such forms of writing is poetry. Poetry remains a beautiful way to communicate love and affection.

Poetry is a verbal composition expressed in writing designed to convey experiences, ideas or emotions in a vivid and imaginative way. It is said to be a piece of writing which is nearly always rhythmical and that partakes of the nature of both speech and song. Due to a slow yet deep flare for poetry (hmmm, God knows I had no choice), I took time to read through the entire book of Song of Solomon and discovered that it's not only a beautiful poem but also a pattern for expressing true love that should exist between a man and a woman in love, either in the context of marriage or a relationship with the intention of marriage.

The book of Song of Solomon also expresses one's love for God and God's love for His people in Christ Jesus. I'd call it a poetic display of devoted affection in its purest romance. Now that I have succeeded in joggling your mind with the beauty of love and affection expressed in writing, I leave you with a piece of poetry that not only tells an amazing love story between two lovers but also has made me stuck to its source throughtout life's journey. It's titled Just For Me. Perhaps it may inspire you too to creatively use words to express your affection and love.



JUST FOR ME

Scanning through my memory
Putting together the full story
Of that sweet day we first met
And how things began to set

It was all divinely mixed
All the focus I had was fixed
On the work we were doing
I almost missed God speaking

He simply put you in my way
Then watched what I would say
You just did not leave my mind
No doubt you were one of a kind

I observed your sincere dedication
Your work left an undying impression
You completed every task I gave
Time and energy you helped me save

That's how this trip all began
First I crawled and then I ran
Daily I longed for us to speak
Your voice set me at my peak

I saw in you a huge difference
You stood out as a reference
Yes, just friends we were
But I soon found you dear

Your virtues were rare
How could I not care
Even today I still rejoice
That I made this choice

Initially it didn't seem clear
But I refused to give in to fear
My head gave just a little green light
My heart screamed out that I was right

What a joy I chose not to relent
Didn't matter if my blood I spent
Satan tried to stop this but failed
Through God's aid we both prevailed

You stuck with me through my pain
It made me know I'll walk again
Today for you I can give my eye
I'll cherish you till the day I die

Now we go from grace to grace
Touching lives from place to place
Levels are changing from day to day
All by grace, we didn't pay

Yes, our story will be told
With you I wanna grow old
You're the only one I see
You were built just for me
