" Faith makes all things possible... Love makes all things easy." - Dwight L. Moody

Jude : 20-21 (MSG)
But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God's love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!

These lines: "With this few points of mine,I believe I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that..." rang in my head as I recalled the days of being a part of the debaters club as it was called back then in my junior secondary school. We were trained to give reasons why we defended the argument in whatever topic we were given. We used every intelligent idea we could find to ensure that we made more sense than the opposing team. To me then, I saw it more as a comparison, showing the listening audience why your collection of points should receive the greater applause. But then if your reasons were not sufficiently made clear due to the nature of your topic, you would need the 'debate grace' to make your team pull through.

In life, some things are naturally placed higher than others. For instance, one that has given himself to good training and grounded knowledge would possibly become the one who the people want to be their leader over one that has not. Likewise when it comes to the issue of faith and love, love from your heart has a way of placing you on a higher pedestal than faith can do. Little wonder God's Word calls love the most excellent way. Yes, having faith and being faithful is good, as there are so many verse of scripture that amplify the importance of faith in one's life but I say having love and being loveful is better. There's one verse I want to use as an illustration here, a verse that I believe a 3 year old can recite, John 3:16. You see, God gave us His Love first before He required us to have faith in him because He knows that when love precedes, faith is possible.

When we walk in love, the world takes notice of HIS love exhibited in us and are drawn because they see Christ in us. But if we claim to have faith in Christ and do not show forth love then its like cutting through a well decorated iced cake and realizing that that is all it is - no cake inside. So, dear friend, it is time we started aiming for a higher level, a higher height; it's time we moved from head knowledge to being practical believers characterized by love. One of the things Peter says in 2 Pet. 1:5-7 that we should consciously add to our lives, is love. We must take responsibility to ensure our lives are characterized by love. No one can do that for you and me in our individual lives. With these few points of mine I believe I have been able to... Nahhh, this isn't a debate :-) I want to believe that you appreciate the greatness of love more now than you did when you started reading.
