1 Cor 13:1-10
1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.
2 If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing.
3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, Doesn't have a swelled head, Doesn't force itself on others, Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep score of the sins of others, Doesn't revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.
8-10 Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incomplete will be canceled.
You would probably be wondering why there wasn't any opening quote before today's Bible passage as usual for those quite observant, and also the passage rather seemed unusually lengthy. It's all in the bid to state that as much as quotes on love are good for they are personal thoughts and deep realization of men who once lived and are living, the Word of God is more important and surpasses every man made comment because it lives on and on and is timeless. There's a scripture coming to mind now which says man is like grass and his glory as the flower of the field, the grass withers and a flower dies but the man who abides in the Word lives forever (1 Peter 1:24).
So you see, bringing today's message solely from God's Word is timely as we all need to be reminded that love's power to effect changes in our lives and around us comes from one source, the Word of God. And to those who are willing to be obedient to His word, putting down and aside their human or natural beliefs shaped by the world system, because they embraced the Word they'll eat the good that the land has and bask in its glorious blessings. Please go over today's scripture passage over and over again. It's good enough to go over ten times until your spirit draws something tangible that you can apply to your daily walk. God is using LOVE ISSUES to minister daily to people in several locations across the world. It's my prayer that these messages always fall on ready hearts to make a difference in the daily course of things all to the glory of God. Amen
Keep Living, Keep Loving..............LOVE ISSUES
