"It's common sense that anything will run out without a source that steadily replenishes it. Therefore, for our love to know no end, it must draw from a love that lasts forever,." - C.E.O
Hebrews 12:2-3 (CEV)
We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete. He endured the shame of being nailed to a cross, because he knew later on he would be glad he did. Now he is seated at the right side of God's throne! So keep your mind on Jesus, who put up with many insults from sinners. Then you won't get discouraged and give up.
We live in a world that is ashamed of and hostile to the culture of love. What should receive praise is mocked and sneered at. You're considered weak and unwise if you operate in love. But we have been called to live love. Christianity is the life of God lodging in our hearts and pouring out of us everyday as love. The world cannot help us live this way. The life we're called into is beyond their syllabus. The world is experiencing a great departure from what is right. For these reasons and more, it is necessary to anchor our love on something beyond this world, else we will grow discouraged, get faint-hearted and give up. I found that love requires boldness and courage. Living a life of love in this world is like swimming against the tide. To live this life of bravery as a culture, we need to draw inspiration from somewhere because the people around us won't cheer us.
The good news is that a stable source of inspiration has been prepared for us. The entire universe will never know any love greater than Jesus' love. In loving your fiance, fiancée, husband, wife and indeed anyone else as you ought, your eyes have to be on this amazing love of God shown us in Jesus. It will keep inspiring you and strengthening you to go further and farther. My dear friend, have you taken out time to consider the gravity of God's love? Have you sat alone just to open your mind to the obvious awesomeness of His love for us? It's impossible to get discouraged if we keep looking into His love because no matter how much we give, how much we lavish, how much we serve or how much we endure, none of us will ever sacrifice enough to measure up to what He has done and continuously does. He had cause to retreat but He refused to turn back. He kept loving us. Even today He still does. You're not always at your best but that doesn't discourage Him. Sometimes you find people complaining about how much they have done yet the other person isn't showing gratitude. Friends, as long as we can describe to others how much we love, we haven't gotten there yet because His love is indescribable.
The portion of the scriptures we're considering today is such a delight. Jesus faced shame and took it because He wasn't going to give up loving you and me. The question now is, are you and I going to quit loving others because it's not the famous thing to do? Are we going to quit because we feel ashamed and embarrassed? We won't, not if we keep remembering Jesus' love. Today's scripture says Jesus didn't quit because He knew later He'd be glad He went all the way. Truly now He is. That's something we have to remember too. We'll be glad we didn't quit loving the people we love today. Your relationship/marriage does not need to fall apart. That divorce is not God's idea. I know there isn't much around you to encourage you to go on now. Perhaps there is nothing at all giving you a reason to continue. But you can lift your eyes to Jesus. He defined love for us at it's best. Today I urge you to draw strength from His love and be encouraged. Please understand that if you're in an ungodly relationship, this isn't for you. God won't encourage you to go on in what isn't pleasing to Him. This is for people who need to keep doing what they know God would have them do. Do have a blessed day.
