LOVE'S ENERGY

Matthew 5:43-48
43 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.


It is not strange anymore to see two friends who were once very close and couldn't do without each other, all of a sudden become distant and estranged from each other due to whatever reason or reasons they give. In summary, a painful unexpected misunderstanding caused them to go separate ways. Another of such unfortunate example is when a husband and wife's relationship hits the rocks and results in a split such that they become like total strangers filled with rage and bitterness towards each other, shifting blames and pointing accusing fingers with no atom of respect for the other person. They develop antagonistic tendencies and quickly become enemies. I look at these and can only imagine how different things would have been if only this set of people had a better understanding and allowed that understanding hold sway in their lives.

The culprit behind all these is no other than the one who has always rebelled against all that God has done. A lot of people give the devil a chance and then he takes more than they expected him to take. He converts a step to more than a mile in order to perpetuate his wicked schemes, making people create enemies out of other human beings whereas God's Word says and shows that the only enemy we have is the devil. We should never allow this. We should never give in to the belief that people are those you should be against. Jesus teaches us to love people. Love will always remain the number one tool to destroy hate, change bad situations for good and make a huge difference in the lives of people. Nothing else does that, absolutely nothing! Let's spend our energy loving people.

When next a grave misunderstanding arises between you and someone, be the one to take the bold step of love, forgive, apologise and do everything in your power to settle and bury the hatchet. Extend a hand of love to them and if they refuse, give them some time while you're putting them in prayers. Dear friends, life is too precious to choose to live it in disharmony. Do not give the wicked one a chance to cut God's supply of riches, sweetness and good things into you life. Only those who live continually in love enjoy such blessings. Let this understanding be in you,choose to be different in this world of indifference hoping soon,we all shall make the world a place of love. I encourage you to go over the focal scripture for today again and again. Just let your spirit digest those words.
