"It is important that when we make a resolution, or establish a goal, that we take the ACTION necessary to accomplish that goal." - Steve Maraboli
Genesis 13:14-15 (LOGOS)
14 And God said to Abram after Lot had separated from him, “Look up with your eyes and behold from the place where you now are northward and southward, and eastward and westward;
15 for all the land which you see, I will give to you and to your descendants forever.
There's always a good feeling that comes with a new year. That feeling that makes all things brand new again helping you to forget almost quickly all the goals and achievements of the previous year, even to the events that occurred. It almost feels as if you could even go back in time and completely erase things that happened, preventing them from happening. Almost everyone can attest to this special feeling that occurs in the early days of a new year to the point that most persons want to make New Year's resolutions that would energize their prowess in order to fulfil some positive goals and dreams that didn't make it through in the previous year. This feeling of freshness is good in the most part because it fills you with hope for better things. We can take this and use it to make amazing things happen. The year is still new, you can look around and see things with your imagination, things you want God to bring into your life.
Making resolutions are not bad in themselves, as every one is free to do what they deem fit. Most times what's bad is making resolutions but not applying corresponding actions. Looking at today's quote, we're reminded yet again that for anything to work out successfully in life, it needs to be worked at intentionally. Anyone can make wishes. Nothing changes because we wish they should change. Things change because we work at them to change. We need to apply some form of intentional force in order to make things happen. Isaac Newton propounded the laws of motion. In his first law he said that every object will continue to remain in a state of rest until it is acted upon by a force. That means that nothing just happens on its own. Things are made to happen. Your attitude of love is one area you need to be more deliberate about this year. Nothing will change until you make it change. Until you take responsibility realizing that God has given us so much ability, nothing will become different.
The best New Year resolution (decision, goal or whatever you call it) one could make is choosing to walk in genuine love, developing the character of love towards all and setting it as a goal, putting in place anything and everything that would propel you and encourage you to walk in love, having friends who have like minds on this issue of love because they would act as reminders to talk to you about heading in your desired destination. Take a good look at where you are and where you want to be this year in your relationship/marriage. By the wisdom of God ask yourself what and what you need to do practically to have those things come to pass. Then, start carrying out those actions deliberately. This is how things change. A wise man once said, "If you don't work, it won't wotk." If you're reading this and you've not submitted your life to Jesus Christ, that's where you must start. He's the Source of true love. God is love. You cannot improve in love when you don't even know Love. Love isn't first a thing; love is a Person. So, begin by getting to know Jesus. Having the Source of true love as your centre and core will do a lot in making you a much better person this year. My wish, prayer and desire for you is that you have a wonderful and prosperous brand new 2015.
Keep Loving, Keep Living.................LOVE ISSUES
