"Forgiveness is the very heart of love." - Bibi
Micah 7:18-20 (NIV)
18 Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.
19 You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
20 You will be faithful to Jacob, and show love to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our ancestors in days long ago.
People from different walks of life, past and present have defined love in their own special way. There are different opinions on love. I personally appreciate it when someone tries to define the love they have encountered in their lives in whatever way or form. Some over the years have had a good understanding of what love truly is, while others could not see that love meant a whole lot more than what they perceived it as. Those who had a good understanding of love were those who saw that there is only one true source of love, agape - the God type of love. This is the kind of love we see in God. It is what we call true love. Someone once said that there is no love if God isn't in the picture. That is so true and just says it all. No one can truly experience real love outside what God says love is. We didn't invent love. Love was God's idea, not yours. Except He shows you what love truly is, you may think you know what it is but you'll be wrong.
You see, God's love cannot be fully comprehended despite its simplicity and the fact that it's very real. Yet some people think God is one angry big fellow who is quick to pass harsh judgment on people if they do not do what He has commanded them to do. You see, whatever or whoever makes you believe so is a liar just like the devil. Why do I say this? I say that because love would not have existed if God didn't have it as His nature. God does not just show love; God is love. Let me attempt to break it down. Love exists among us today only because God is love. His nature is love. He is love by nature and He clearly showed us Himself in Christ. When Jesus Christ came into the world, He never at any time rained judgement on any one because they failed at trying to please God, no matter what they did. Those Jesus told outrightly that they would be condemned were those who were too arrogant to receive God's mercy that He offered. The adulteress who was dragged to Him went home a changed woman simply because she encountered true love. She met with unconditional acceptance, not a judgmental comment.
True love never leaves a person empty, confused, deserted or thrown into shame. It picks you up, inspires you to try again and tells you you can. True love always hopes for the best in any one and sees the best coming out. Love keeps hoping for better. All this happens because what is at the heart of love is forgiveness. Do not let anyone deceive you, God loves you and does not hold your shortcomings or misconduct against you provided you admit you were wrong and you ask Him to have mercy on you. As long as you feel you don't need His forgiveness, you cannot receive it. But if you're humble and admit you need His help, He'll wrap you in His love. Yes, God does not wait for you to say you're sorry before He forgives you but that doesn't mean you should not say you're sorry when you realise you've gone wrong. God's love never ends. He is ever ready to forgive you and to draw you closer to him each day. Be inspired by His love to love your partner, spouse, children, parents, colleagues and all others the same way He loves you.
Keep Loving, Keep Living.................LOVE ISSUES
