LOVE'S PREDICTION

I Corinthians 13: 4-7 (NLT)
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud
5 or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.
6 It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.


I have had cause to think about and rethink the reasons why I do what I do. I have thought of why God always puts something in my heart to share with people on love, one of the most important topics of life. Mind you, it is not because I have attained to the level where I'm a flawless picture of the definition of love in the scriptures as we see in the opening passage, nor is it because I am such a love personality to the point that it's only natural these posts cannot but flow out steadily. Rather it is the handwork of God Himself who chooses to do with a person what He decides, whether or not that person is seemingly qualified for the task at hand. LOVE ISSUES is God's idea. It's His will that these posts on love come so that we all will come to terns with what He so desires for and from us all that are in him and in order to draw those outside Christ to Himself.

It is almost unthinkable that any human being could have the qualities of agape (God's kind of love) because humans are naturally selfish today. This selfish state is a radical departure from what God intended. Originally mankind was created in the likeness of God i.e to be like God. Before man cooperated with Satan in the garden, he was a love being. Today all that has changed. For some, no matter how much they claim to know God, they still struggle with selfishness because the religions of the world cannot restore man's heart to the heart of love that God intended it to be. Only believing in Christ Jesus as your Saviour who paid with His blood on the cross to set you free from Satan and submitting to His rule over your life, can make your heart new. After accepting Christ, you need to be filled with God's Holy Spirit because it is He who gives you the enablement and the energy to live this life of love.

One differentiating quality of this amazing love that makes it a wonder to the world is the continuous choice to love for no human reason that comes with it. Agape love continuously chooses to love despite the circumstances it's faced with. It is not shaken and moved by what it sees, feels or hears. Agape is the very nature of God. Agape is the law that governs eternal life and it begins from this world in which man has a limited life span. I wish people will realise that this love is the principle on which eternity with God runs.

We need to indoctrinate the world with this awareness. Little wonder it was the sole message of Christ on earth, He called it a new commandment. It's not impossible to live this agape life because with God, all things are possible. Provided people are ready to forget themselves completely and let love lead, we'll see many more people like Jesus on this earth. When you see true love (agape) in a man's life, you have seen a sure prediction of great success, prosperity and favour that will definitely come on that person. People of love promote peace and unity. Speaking about a place where unity thrives, scripture says that there the Lord commands His blessing, even life for ever more. God is counting on you to be an instrument of love and to produce change with it to the praise of His name.
