"God can heal a broken heart, but he has to have all the pieces." - Anonymous
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
There's a lot of hurt in the hearts of many people around us today. The fine clothes and good looks
are sometimes just that. Many times because we're too carried away with our own lives, we don't realise what's happening to the people we see everyday. Suddenly, we hear that someone committed suicide or perpetrated a very heinous crime and we wonder how such things could have been breeding inside this person we've always known. Some people after being alone in their world of pain for so long, just tend to lose it. The hurting accumulates and eventually blocks their sense of rational reasoning. Their perception of life becomes twisted. They get very negative in their thinking and consequently, the other areas of their lives begin to depreciate.
I know you've seen people like this. Someone around you needs hope. Yes, they see the sunlight everyday but they're getting into more darkness on the inside because the rays of hope are not shining there. You know, we need to break out of our own world and just lovingly reach out to people, engaging them in discussions. It's amazing the changes our simple words and little time shared can make in the lives of peoplw. You and I ought to desire more and more to be a blessing to the hurting people around us. There are many physically sick people in the world but even more are emotionally sick. Many times it's the sickness on the inside that causes a breakdown of one's health. People need healing.
Perhaps you're reading this and it's like I'm speaking specifically to you and about you. I actually am. There's healing for you. There's healing for anyone you know is hurting. Did our opening quote for today strike a cord in your heart? It should. It's really true that the person who cares about us the most is God and He's the one who can fix our broken hearts. It's easy to wonder where God was when all that happened to you was going on but truth is, we never really can blame God for anything. Believe me when I tell you that God seeks only the best for us. We humans are the ones who usually go all out to hurt ourselves. We break all the defenses God placed to protect us and just determine to ruin ourselves.
In the light of our choices, actions and inaction, it's as if we tie God's hands many times. We make it almost impossible for Him to do in us and for us what he desires to do. He wants to help us but we don't let Him. By insisting on our ways and our own agenda, we forsake His provisions. This is often the case. So, let's not blame God for our hurts because as long as we allow Satan influence us to do that, we'll not be willing to give God all the broken pieces of our hearts. He alone can fix us. He's not our problem; He's our answer.
Even when you don't understand how things got to this point, still hand Him all the broken pieces. Even when you're certain you did nothing wrong to deserve this cruel experience, hand Him all the broken pieces. Surrendering to God is a sign that you're pledging loyalty. Even if you're so broken that you cannot but cry all the time, it's okay to cry on Him. Let go of the wheels; surrender to Him and tell Him you love Him and trust that He'll make everything good. When we hand things over and take our rest in Him, everything begins to change. God begins to work things out for our good.
One of the first things He does is to take the pain away. The memory may take a longer time to leave but without the pain, the memory won't be a problem. I want you to find that healing that you so desperately need and long for. I want you to find that healing that God wants you to have. This situation can be used by God to work out an amazing testimony for you. He's an expert when it comes to doing such things. God is calling you to hand everything over to Him. We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, those who He has called just as He intended. If you're reading this and you're hurting, God is calling you to hand all the broken pieces of your heart over to Him.
