So, because love is a purposeful commitment, it can never be blind. Rather love chooses to turn a blind eye to some things that cause conflict because it places a high value on the relationship.
Love doesn't wait for a person to be worthy or deserving of good treatment. It goes ahead to be nice all the way.
Love is not petty. It doesn't hang on to every little wrong. Rather it finds a way of burying the hatchet and burying it very deep.
Love is accommodating. It takes note of the fact that people are not perfect. So it patiently allows them to grow into the people they are meant to be.
Love has the ability to suffer long and to forgive. Again and again. Love is not selfish. If you love a person their happiness will mean a lot to you and you will always put them before yourself.
Love is not proud. It's willing to let go of its rights and privileges. Love never looks back but keeps going to the end. It believes in no other option and preaches no other gospel than making it work.
Don't say you don't love anymore. Instead begin to look out for things that are lovable in that very unlovable person. If you're sincere, you will find a thing or two about them that are commendable. Stop focusing on your differences. No two people are ever the same. If you keep searching, you will always find things to disagree on.
Even if a person was raised in a witches' coven, they can never be impervious to love. So, if you love them against all odds, one day your love will raise down their defenses and turn their minds around.
NB: This wasn't written just for couples but for every human relationship. So you can love that your colleague, your roommate, your sibling, your neighbor and that friend. You can love that parent. You can love that spouse. Yes, you can.
