Communication Boosts Friendship
Effective communication is one important element that makes a relationship tick. It is the very essence of relationships and the reason isn't far-fetched. When two persons who didn't even have the slightest intention of getting really close start talking to each other often, before long some form of attraction begins to build.

Gradually, 'feelings' will start being generated within both of them for each other simply because they gave themselves to communicating and conversing often with each other. As a matter of fact, it is constant communication that precedes good friendship. You can get to develop the quality of your friendship with someone by always making out time to share things with them and to have them share things with you.

When you come to know someone really well, you tend to love that person in a way you do not love others. Just as your proper knowledge of someone naturally helps you breed love for that person, in the same way proper communication with someone naturally helps you breed friendship with that person. It's all connected.


Communication Enhances Intimacy
The more we communicate with someone, the better we know them. The better we know someone, the more we love them and at the same time, the stronger our friendship gets. Just imagine how applying this simple and practical tool called communication will help your relationship with your spouse/partner.

Constant communication between partners helps a couple to understand each other properly and prevents all forms of misunderstanding because it is from lack of communication that misunderstanding breeds and thrives. Poor communication or a lack of communication leads to misunderstanding.

Never assume that your partner knows what's on your mind or that by default they know your stand on a particular thing you both have not discussed. Be deliberate about communicating. It's not fair to expect them to be read your mind. So, if you want people to understand you, the best you can do is to be open minded to them and that can only happen when you communicate with them. You open your mind to people by opening your mouth - talking.


Communication Allows Free Expression
Tell them what you think and how you felt about what went wrong and/or what went right. Two persons who experience the same situation may interpret it differently. So, it makes things better and life easier for both of you when you choose to be open minded about situations and always talk about them.

Communication isn't only through spoken words, it's a whole lot which includes body languages, eye contacts, holding hands and anything done by partners to stay in touch, pass a message and stay connected. Freely express yourself and allow your partner/spouse free expression. Also feel free to communicate creatively and romantically.

One of the key things that helps communication is having an understanding of our difference in make up. For men, they are generally more logically oriented compared to women who are more emotionally oriented. Men are generally love givers while women may always want to receive love because they are generally love seekers.


We Communicate Differently
Women have an in-built tendency to always want to share their feelings, excitements, burdens and concerns. So, they are generally more prone to want discussions. The man should allow her be herself and do his best to listen actively to her as she expresses herself. Men are more work-minded while women are more relationship minded. Men talk but they generally talk less than women. The woman should allow the man be a man and not try to make him into a woman.

It would be helpful if the man and the woman understand how men and women are wired to function, and operate with that knowledge. As a man, when you don't listen to your wife/fiancée or when you don't give her the opportunity to talk and express her feelings, you're pushing her away and that affects your relationship negatively. Likewise, as a woman, when you don't know when to give your man a little space, the same could happen.

Communication is what holds a relationship firm and causes it to flourish and should be taken with all seriousness no matter the cost even when it seems the presence of barriers would want to make it impossible. The more you communicate, the closer you become and the better you bond. There could be love and fireworks and all but as scripture says, every part is needed to make the body complete. Communication cannot be ignored in your quest to know #WhatLoveReallyCosts.
