Until the will and affections are brought under the authority of Christ, we have not begun to understand, let alone to accept His Lordship" - Elisabeth Elliot

2 Timothy 1:1-4
1 But know this that in the last days perilous times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self control, brutal, despisers of good,
4 Traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning. It had rained cats and dogs all through the night and with the little droplets of rain still pouring and the pools of water gathered all around, it was glaring that the day was going to be cool and humid. I hurried to the park hoping the rain would spare my clothes from getting wet. I had paid for my ticket and was looking for a seat to recline. "Thank God!" I exclaimed under my breath as I saw a one in the midst of already sitted passengers.

Getting there I saw a lady towards the right of the seat on which I was going to sit just looking around. Happily I took my seat. And then I went, 'Ouch' as I jumped up immediately as I felt water wetting my trousers. It then dawned on me why that seat was empty all along. I realised water was constantly dripping on the perforated seat and then wondered what it would have taken that lady to just point it out to me and tell me not to seat there. This whole incident got me thinking all over again why people can't just be their neighbor's keeper. Before I could recover from this incident, I had two other experiences.

In one of them I was mislead by a bus conductor to board his bus just because he selfishly cared more about what he stood to gain than what was best for me, the passenger he was wanting to attract into his vehicle. On another occasion we forgot some things on the roof of our car and as we drove past the people we had just been talking with before we moved none even bothered to call our attention to it. The opening verse popped into my mind and gave answers to my questions. It reminded me of the importance of always being a love enforcement agent and of the need to remind people that it's important to love one another. Scripture says that is the debt we owe every person.
