"Love someone who will never get tired of kissing you every day. Who will hug you when you are jealous. Who will understandingly keep silent when you are mad. Who will squeeze your hand when you're not in the mood. Who will plan and imagine the future with you in it… And when you find that someone just never let go" - Unknown

Ecc 10:10 (NKJV)
If the ax is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success.

As I read through my Bible some days back I came across today's verse of scripture in a way that it has never occurred to me previously. In it I suddenly saw by the help of God's Spirit, a strong lesson on the issue of love. Allowing feelings guide your judgement in matters of love is like using a dull axe to fell a tree. The tree or piece of wood being cut can be likened to the relationship. Strength is wastefully dissipated and tiredness sets in when we allow feelings take the driver's seat. This is one of the reasons why many people throw in the towel and hit the road, unable to keep up or continue such a relationship. To have a sweat-free relationship you have to draw from something other than your feelings.

The second part of the scripture relates the value of wisdom. It tells us wisdom brings success. Elsewhere the Bible says wisdom is the principal thing. We can also call it the main ingredient. Every relationship needs wisdom to succeed. To get the desired result as at when due in our relationships, we cannot afford to leave out wisdom. Sometimes wisdom does not come naturally because although common sense has its place, wisdom is different from common sense. Wisdom has to be gotten. It's something we go after. We do not sit down and just expect it to come up in our minds. For it to always come up when we need it, we must have gone after it and stored it up on our inside. Getting wisdom means getting knowledge from God's word about God's desire for your relationship and how to deal with your spouse/partner. Wisdom is what keeps the edge of your love sharp.

Today's quote paints a picture that describes the desire of many people but how to find that person often eludes them. Well, you can rest assured that as you follow God's wisdom, you cannot but find that person because the wisdom of God will first of all make you one. If you're already in a relationship, the wisdom of God can make you that person in your relationship. There's a greater blessing in being the one giving to your partner than in being the one receiving from him/her. Today's verse speaks volumes, as we could consider it in different ways. In conclusion though let me say that love is not an accident but a choice. We choose to love people. True love is a commitment, a decision, an action you make up your mind to do. Love is something you do consciously. So, my friend, let your love be as a result of the decision you make first rather than the feelings it brings, first.

Keep Loving, Keep Living...........LOVE ISSUES.
