"A real man never hurts a woman. Be very careful when you make a woman cry. Because God counts her tears. The woman came out of man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior. But from his side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected. And next to the heart to be loved" - Unknown.

Genesis 24:12-14
12 And he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham. 13 Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: 14 And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.

Few days ago while I was listening to a sermon in a relationship seminar, I heard heard the preacher make mention of how God saw the need for a helper to be made for Adam and so HE took from Adam a rib while he deeply slept and made that rib into a woman. There and then two things popped up in my mind. The first is that after God had said it was not good for man to be alone, scripture records that God brought the animals to Adam in order that he might give names to each of them, from the land animals to the sea animals and those in the air. They all came to him to be named. While all this was going on, the plan for a woman was still waiting in God's heart, yet to be made known. Secondly, God didn't inform Adam of what HE had in mind, that He was going to take a rib from him with which he would create a woman.

So, the question is how did Adam come to know that she was taken from within him? As soon as he saw her he exclaimed that she was bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh and it hit me that there was something in her that made him recognize she was his, else he could as well have seen a female gorilla and called it his but that was not to be. God had made Eve the replica of Adam. He knew beyond the shadow of a doubt deep within him that Eve was his. I came to this conclusion that for every man there is a woman created for him but the issue is people want to always go with their desires rather than wait for God to reveal that woman to them. Being who He is, God won't force a man because He already gave humans a free will, the right to make choices. Therefore, one can either choose to wait for God or choose to take chances and follow their own mind.

It's no breaking news that many women are abused and mishandled by their husbands/partners in different ways and to different degrees. These men do not understanding the vital place of such women in their lives. They do not yet know and understand God's original plan, that He created a woman to be beside a man, to be loved, cherished and appreciated at all times. The woman is not inferior to the man but equal in God's eyes. A woman can only thrive in an environment of true love and that's why Paul admonished men to love their wives as Christ loves the church. It's by so doing that the woman's best in every aspect of her life is revealed especially in the way she reciprocates her man's love by the respect and submission she gives to him.
