LOVE'S ENDLESSNESS

Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death, Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, a most vehement flame.


What struck me about the opening quote was the seemingly ironies in the statement the composer had put together. I thought to myself what would make a man come to a point of saying that knowledge was not as strong as imagination and that which really got me was his belief that dreams are more real than facts. The line which I could only relate with was the last of his thought that had become an indelible statement because it is somewhat borrowed from Solomon's love classic, the Songs of Solomon. Now to an extent I can see how he arrived at such conclusions simply because the things we do not see are responsible for that which we do see with our naked eyes.

Let me speak to the married, you see, God intended that marriages should only come to an end when one or their spouse is taken by death alone and not for all the other reasons even put together that has caused divorce to plague many marriages today. Love in the confines of marriage is meant to protect the married and to preserve them. It's designed to withstand any hurdle thrown at it and to remain, no matter what, between those who made vows to each other. This is why Solomon says it's as strong as death. Now to the unmarried, before you go about the choice of a marriage partner let these words fill your mind and grant you direction in order that you might make a choice that you'll still be happy about twenty, thirty and even more years later.

Another reason why true love is stronger than death is because death itself will not live for eternity. Soon it will be conquered, vanquished and done away with forever. But true love is the very nature of God Himself and since God himself lives forever, love will be as long as God is. My friend, love will never end. Take advantage of this reality. Maximize this truth. This is how you leave an unending legacy. This is how you leave your footprints in the sands of eternity, not just time. This is how you become a legend. This is how for eternity you'll find yourself where God is. If you live love you'll be forever where God is. It's not hard. As you start loving, love will give you the ability to keep loving. Therefore, today and indeed always let true love dominate your being, your heart and soul, then rest assured of a place with God in eternity.
