In the midst of the celebration and the glamorous activities of the ceremony, King Tailor still kept hope alive as he threw his glances often in several directions, looking out for Princess Jenna thinking she would change her mind and honour his request but unfortunately she never did. She never showed up for ceremony.
It wasn't long afterwards before they knew her absence was not due to any circumstance beyond her control. She didn't come because she didn't want to be there. The elders and the wise men of the King's court were so displeased at the behaviour of the Princess. They came to the conclusion that such a woman wasn't fit to be their king's wife. They needed someone who could set the right example for the young and old women of Appletton. Their conclusion was that another woman had to be chosen as the king's bride, one who would reflect the right attitude towards the King's people, as well as provide for the King all his wants and needs as his wife and Queen of Appletton.
The search began. A provlamation was made for all the beautiful women in the whole province of Arklanda to be brought before the King. He would choose from them one who he deemed fit to become his bride. Those who crossed the preliminary screening stage all were to go through months of preparation in their speech, composure and the refinement of their beauty. Timon, the Kings personal assistant was to be the one seeing to their upkeep and training as they were placed in his charge. All they needed were supplied. Having summoned over 200 beautiful young ladies there seemed to be one who was outstanding in the qualities of her personality and this made her win the favour of Timon who gave her some preferential treatment.
The King was also quick to notice her as her kind and homely gestures won his heart over all the other ladies. There seemed to be something amazing about her that he could not quite place his hand on. Heather was a humble girl, so beautiful inside out and was a cousin to the King's cup bearer who had served King Tailor's Father for decades. Heather was so pretty to behold. She pleased the King so much in every aspect and this confirmed the strong attraction King Tailor had for her. He picked her out of the rest and proposed to her and she became his Queen. This happened at the seventh month after the coronation of the King.
King Tailor and Queen Heather were just a perfect match as he was so pleased with her and his love for her grew stronger and healthier by the day. The king also could not but notice the way she governed the women of their kingdom, how she truly loved him by being respectful and pleasing him always. As time went on, it was revealed that a plot was made against the minority of Appletton for something that had no true bearing. These people were brought in from exile by King Tailor's Father in his early reign as King when he was just a child and were absorbed into Appletton as farmers and merchants.
It was brought to the king's awareness that these harmless people were to be executed by some big names in his government, the men, women and male sons for a reason that shouldn't be heard. King Tailor was displeased. He would not tolerate such injustice and wickedness in his kingdom. He commanded the Head of his Guards, Tribert, to carry out a proper investigation and that those behind the evil should face justice. He had known from a little child that the set of people in question were well spoken of by His father. It was no secret that their labour had boosted the economy of Appletton. All this while the king had not known that his Queen was one of these people.
