The grass is not always greener on the other side; I bet you must have been familiar with this statement one way or the other which simply means that the way we look at different people and different situations and always think that what we have is not good enough. This mentality is what is responsible for killing love relationships that would have thrived to be the best in their way.

I think of marriages that have hit the rocks so badly and the couple going their separate ways, that could have had a good chance of survival if only either one or both couples did not entertain this idea that has a subtle negative effect on their union. Many feel that the challenges they face in their marriage union which could range from communication issues to conflict resolutions to financial disagreements, intimacy and sexual issues, and unbalanced responsibilities and unmet expectations can never be resolved and so they choose to go their separate ways and even start new relationships thinking that these issues will be better off with their new partners. No way!, it never makes it better I must tell you. So you might want to ask; what exactly does?

Life itself can be very unprecedented and unpredictable but our responses to what we are faced with at times and how we choose for these to positively affect our lives is what matters and makes the difference. One very important strength that can help us navigate through life issues in all areas is the ability to be filled with love; love for ourselves as well as love for others. This can attract positive vibes and outcomes to our lives.

More importantly, marriages that seem unsalvageable can truly breathe a breath of fresh air if only one of the couples is willing to make it work. What comes to mind is the verses of scriptures that talk about a husband staying and making his marriage work with an unbelieving wife and vice versa. This simply means that if only one is applying the laws of agreement which are faithfulness, forgiveness, patience, service, respect, kindness, and celebration to their union,  long enough, it will only be a matter of time before the other couple or spouse would start reciprocating all that has been invested into their relationship and that would make their marriage thrive just as we see in one of Francine Rivers best seller book; Redeeming Love which was a story adapted from the Book of Hosea.

So it's a matter that can't be disputed, that with love(unconditional commitment), nothing sweet and beautiful is impossible in any marriage for it takes a willing heart and a mind that has not been corrupted with the phrase; the grass is greener on the other side to make it possible.

It takes one of the two individuals to apply themselves in order to make the union work.

    1. The understanding of agreement even begins with just one of them.
